(Another) New camera

Well, I finally got round to buying myself a new camera yesterday - those nice people at Jessops were doing a bit of a deal so I bought an EOS 400D - yes I know there’s the 450D out but that’s another £100 and the extra features were not vitally appealing to me :)

I used to do a lot of photography with one of these:

An old Russian Zenit manual SLR - threw myself in at the deep end and it taught me a lot about aperture, manual focusing etc.. nowadays you just have to point the camera and *click*, everything is done for you - sort of takes away some of the magic I think.

Anyway, I still only have the kit lens but will probably grab a nifty fifty in the near future.. off to the London Guitar Show on Saturday so it will have an airing then (think dim lighting, reflective guitars and loads of people.. it’s going to be a baptism of fire!).

You know it makes sense!! I went from a Zenit to Canon also…remember to bracket if in doubt with inddor lighting, and maybe adjust the exposure evaluation mode also

Ah - you got the first step right, but why did you have to go from a real camera to a gasfire? Pentax rocks!

Meh, I deliberated over getting a Nikon or a Canon but the Canon won out in the end - a friend has one and she said it’s the perfect transition from film to digital.. still ploughing through the manual but most of it is common sense.

Now to buy a new lens or two - anyone want to buy a kidney?

Your kidneys are probably still swimming in steroids…No thanks!

However, you’ve got better legs than me…how much for the left leg, from the knee down?

  6. Marc Says:

Hmm, it’s probably as useful as a leg of lamb so shall we say a tenner?

How do you know I have better legs, I don’t recall wearing shorts to work? Aah, that must explain the glint in the bushes last night ;)

  7. Andrew Haywood Says:

    Err, um, it’s a fair cop…but I wasn’t looking at YOUR legs!
