qmailtoaster update

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006

Well, I have had a bit of a shuffle of my home hardware.. fear the power of my spanking new mail/web server! It’s a PII-400 w/384MB ram and it’s performing perfectly well for the level of traffic. Again, check out the phpsysinfo link to check out the spec.

qmail toaster

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

Fed up of paying someone to host my website and mail server, and having recently upgraded to 10mbps cable, I decided to host it all myself. Being limited in time (aka lazy) I decided to try Qmail Toaster for CentOS, my preferred server os.

Expecting it to take a good few hours to set up, I was surprised when I had it up and running in under an hour! I have the domain and mx records forwarded by no-ip.com to my home address, where it hits a fairly standard 2GHz Duron box w/512MB ram.. oh yes, the box is also running this blog admirably too. Click the phpsysinfo link on the right to get usage stats for this box.
